The benefits consultant assigned to a client helps analyze and identify the needs of an employer to provide for its employees, and will suggest benefits that may attract and retain staff.
What benefits an employer wants to provide to each level of employee is considered when devising a plan. For instance, executive employees may receive more or different benefits than manual labourers. Also, some employers offer basic coverage with an opportunity for employees to pay for additional benefits or will choose to share the overall cost with employees.
Some insurance companies specialize in coverage for specific industries and/or specific coverage and these will be discussed.
A plan, particular to an employer’s needs, will be marketed to insurance carriers to secure the right coverage at a competitive price.
